You’d think that someone claiming to specialize in equipment restoration would understand basic math and economics. Third time in as many weeks that I’ve witnessed technicians “restoring” keyboards valued at $10. Even using their logic (“we only took 5 minutes to restore each keyboard”), the time-and-material cost works out to $12.50 per unit. Based on my observations and analysis of their production records, however, they spent over 15 minutes ($37.50) on each unit. Unfortunately, the keyboard issue only represents a systemic problem of accountability within the equipment restoration industry.
Restoration contractors gone wild!
